XAMNET Messenger is a Windows Mobile messenger to demonstrate the concepts of Mobile Ad-hoc messaging using XMPP. Using this software, networked Windows Mobile devices can be used to form mobile ad-hoc networks and exchange XMPP messages.

Features

  • Store-and-Forward technology
  • Message receipts
  • Support for multiple transport protocols (IP, Bluetooth, Zigbee™)

Getting Started

You will need a Windows Mobile device to use XAMNET Messenger. Your device will also need an externally addressable IP on port 5224 if you wish to communicate with other XAMNET nodes across a WAN. In a non-WAN environment all XAMNET nodes need to have addressable IP's and be accessible on port 5224.

To get started using the software please follow these steps:

  1. Install the XAMNET Messenger application using the one of installers available below
  2. Run XAMNET Messenger from your Windows Mobile device
  3. Choose an arbitrary username and password to sign in
  4. By default you will be connected to a XAMNET node running on the movsoftware server
